Part Time 2 days a week

(with the option of an additional 2-3 days per week of general practice)

Kids Plus Foundation requires an experienced paediatric speech pathologist to join the multi-disciplinary team in the Kids Plus Therapy Program.

Kids Plus provides weekly blocks of therapy for a term to babies, children and teenagers with neuro developmental disabilities including cerebral palsy, brain injury and stroke. The multi disciplinary team comprises physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology along with a parent support and liaison officer. The therapy program uses the NDT/Bobath Therapy approach to the treatment of children with developmental disabilities.

Essential Requirements

5 years minimum experience working with babies and children with cerebral palsy (0-18 yrs)
Experience with dysphagia
Experience with AAC
Experience and committment to person/family centred practice
Mature aptitude and warm personality to engage, support and partner with families and children
Strong and open communication skills, both written and oral
Strong computer/internet/email, word and excel computer skills
Experience in collaboration and working with other clinicians and health professionals
Early intervention and/or school age experience in disability services
Professional Registration
NDT/Bobath qualifications and/or commitment to ongoing professional development

Kids Plus has a strong commitment to professional development and has scholarships available for both Bobath/NDT Courses and a range of other professional development options.

This position can be combined with 2-3 days of general private practice.
